International postage charges for orders have unfortunately had to be increased. This is because NZ Post is now strictly enforcing the rule about what can be sent at letter rates. This means that only paper and printed material can be sent at the letter rate for packages weighing less than 200 grams (approximately 8 ounces).
I found this out the hard way when some packages were returned
to me recently for additional postage. Apparently anything
is suspected of not being paper only is being xrayed to check.
(Please note - I haven't charged anyone any more for this, but
do apologise for the inconvenience of the delay on delivery of
your goodies.)
All packages containing fabric or other non-paper stitching supplies will therefore have to be sent as parcels, which
means I will also have more paperwork to do - filling out those
little green customs forms! Darnit!
The amounts showing for postage on orders at checkout will be the minimum for a 100 gram (4 ounce) package - which is the approximate weight of a fat quarter of fabric. This amount is also the minimum postage amount charged by NZ Post for each
international zone.
I will adjust the actual charge to you based on the estimated weight of your package, plus a small allowance for packaging.
